Spiral Pod Earrings

Native to both China and Taiwan, the Ailanthus altissima or “Tree of Heaven” produces unique, spiral seedling pods. These seedlings can be found on female trees, growing from one to two inches long and are spread through the wind. Originally introduced to the United States in the int the late 1700’s, this species is now considered invasive due to it’s weed like growing tendencies and ability to produce toxins into the surrounding soil.

Materials: Cast Bronze with a hand patina finish. Accented with fresh water pearls and a 24k gold finish.
